Cam Newton and the Carolina Panthers resoundingly proved they are for real on this Sunday afternoon. On the very first play of the game, Jonathan Stewart rushed for 59 yards deep into Seahawks territory setting up the first touchdown of the game. Then Luke Kuechly intercepted a Russell Wilson pass and returned for a touchdown. Carolina led 14-0 just over three minutes into the game. From there the flood gates opened as the Panthers scored on their next three possessions to extend the lead to 31-0 at the end of the first half. However, the Seahawks weren’t dead just yet. Wilson led Seattle on two straight touchdown drives to narrow the lead to 31-14 midway through the third quarter.

He then led Seattle on two late 4th quarter scoring drives to close the gap to 31-24 with just over one minute remaining in the game. However, a failed onside kick off attempt put an end to their hopes. The Panthers held on to win and now move on to host the Arizona Cardinals in the NFC Championship game.
