SHOBOX Friday: Featuring Heavyweight Prospect Jarrell “Big Baby” Miller

Big BabyBy “The Commissioner” Alan J. Kindred

This Friday night, beginning at 10:35 PM EST, SHOBOX will feature four televised fights on a fight card from Tucson, Arizona.

Demond Brock, 10-3, 3 KO’s, from Louisiana, USA, will take on Samuel Teah, 7-1, 2 KO’s, from Philadelphia, USA, by way of Liberia, in an 8 round Lightweight bout. The WBC United States regional title will be on the line.

Bakhtiyar Eyubov, 9-0, 9 KO’s, from Kazakhstan, will take on Jared Robinson, 16-2-1, 7 KO’s, from South Carolina, USA, in an 8 round Junior Welterweight bout. The bout represents a step up in class for Eyubov, as Robinson is more experienced in the pro ranks and has faced the much better opposition. Can Eyubov keep his knockout streak alive?

Rob Brant, 18-0, 11 KO’s, from Saint Paul, Minnesota, USA, will take on Decarlo Perez, 15-3-1, 5 KO’s, from Atlantic City, New Jersey, USA, in a 10 round Middleweight bout for the vacant WBA-NABA regional title. Brant, who has fought mostly lesser opposition will be taking another step up in class with the experienced and streaking Perez, who has won nine out of his last ten.

Jarrell Miller, 15-0-1, 13 KO’s, from Brooklyn, New York, USA, will take on Donovan Dennis, 12-2, 10 KO’s, from Davenport, Iowa, USA, in a 10 round Heavyweight bout for the vacant WBA-NABA regional title. Miller will be taking on one of the more dangerous opponents of his career so far in Dennis, who while vulnerable in terms of durability (both of his losses are by KO), is also a big puncher. Dennis made it to the final of last year’s ESPN Heavyweight tournament losing to Andrey Fedosov in the final match. One thing is certain in this heavyweight prospect showdown, and that is that chins will be checked. Tune in Friday night and see how it all plays out.
