Alexander Povetkin Vs Nicolai Firtha Set for December 18th

Unbeaten WBA/WBO #4 rated heavyweight Alexander Povetkin (20-0, 15 KOs) returns on December 18. The former amateur world champion and Olympic champion will meet Nicolai Firtha (19-7-1, 8 KOs) in a scheduled ten-rounder at Berlin’s Max Schmeling Halle. Povetkin is trained by Teddy Atlas, who believes his protege needs a little more seasoning before challenging Wladimir Klitschko, nevertheless, a world championship fight is still in sight for Povetkin. “Firtha’s fighting style and size similar to Wladimir Klitschko. In this respect, the fight in Berlin is a good test,” he said. Headlining the Sauerland Event card is WBO world cruiserweight champion Marco Huck against mandatory challenger Denis Lebedev.
