Former world champion Antonio Margarito (38-8, 27 KOs) has received medical clearance to return to the ring on March 5 against Jorge “Maromerito” Paez Jr. (39-7-2, 23 KOs) at the Arena Ciudad de Mexico in Mexico City. Although the fight was already announced, Commission approval was contingent on Margarito successfully passing an ophthalmological exam. This will be the 37-year-old Margarito’s first fight since being stopped by Miguel Cotto in their 2011 grudge rematch in New York City. Margarito-Paez will be televised in the USA on beIN Sports Espanol.
