Ronda Rousey Pregnancy SHOCKER? – Miesha Tate Will Meet Amanda Nunes at UFC 200

The Ultimate Fighting Championship announced that Miesha Tate will not face intense rival Ronda Rousey but instead will defend her title versus Brazilian powerhouse Amanda Nunes. Fans were initially shocked that Nunes got the nod when it was almost certain that Tate would get a rematch either to fight Holly Holm (from whom she got her title from) or Ronda Rousey (to whom she lost twice). Rousey and Tate have a memorable but heated rivalry, during a fight Q and A in the Philippines, yours truly asked the current women’s bantamweight champ that in a scale of 1 to 10, how much she hates Rousey, to which the Tate answered “An 11”, the crowd cheered.

Nunes, on the other hand, got the chance of her career. The “lioness” is currently on a 3-fight winning streak with 2 via stoppages, she is also ranked 4th in the women’s bantamweight division. A win versus Tate would make Nunes the 4th champion in 7 months after Rousey’s stranglehold of the division and her eventual loss to Holm.

The UFC considered Miesha Tate’s wish to defend the title rather than wait for Rousey. The biggest question though is why didn’t Holly Holm asked for a rematch?
There is clearly a sign that UFC President Dana White wanted Holm to asked for a rematch, Holm wanted to fight Tate again but wasn’t as insistent as most female bantamweights.

As for Rousey though, rumors are going around that the reason why she – one of the most bankable MMA fighters – is not fighting in the UFC’s marquee card is because she is pregnant. The rumor mill started turning as some thought she was sporting what was thought to be a “baby bump”. Rousey’s previous comments on the issue on pregnancy also didn’t help douse the rumor.

In a previous interview Rousey said “I can say people are cute. Brad Pitt is a sculpture of a man, but I’m not squealing ‘Oh my God!’ because I don’t know him. I have to know somebody to have a crush on him. Definitely [want kids]. I’m an ovarian goldmine. I can’t waste these genes.”
In a more recent interview after her loss to Holly Holm, she revealed her thoughts on suicide, show business and starting a family with current boyfriend and fellow UFC Fighter Travis “Hapa” Browne, Rousey said, “I was literally sitting there and thinking about killing myself and that exact second I’m like, ‘I’m nothing, what do I do anymore and no one gives a s*** about me anymore without this,” said Rousey. “To be honest I looked up and I saw my man Travis was standing up there and I looked up at him and I was like, I need to have his babies. I need to stay alive.”

Travis Browne and Rousey are rumored to be engaged but neither confirmed or denied. What Rousey can confirm though is that she’s currently slated to star in the remake of “Roadhouse” which previously starred by the late Patrick Swayze, shooting was fast-tracked in the first quarter of 2016.

UFC 200 will be on July 9th in Las Vegas. Rousey’s expected return to the UFC would be late 2016.
