Conor McGregor Hints Retirement: Pulled From UFC 200
In a shocking turn of events, Conor McGregor tweeted recently of retirement:
“I have decided to retire young.
Thanks for the cheese.
Catch ya’s later.”
The tweet was considered a crazy joke by most fans but just a few hours after the tweet had been sent, the UFC announced that it will be pulling McGregor out from the UFC 200 card in July following a press conference to be held today, April 20th.
UFC President Dana White said on SportsCenter that the organization pulled McGregor from the card because he “refused to fly to [Las] Vegas for promotional stuff,”
White also added in a recent interview that “nobody is exempt from promoting their fights. We had to pull Conor from fight.”
Conor however, responded in his defense that he was not only obligated to do the promotional events in Las Vegas but he has to do a mini-world tour which to him was unrealistic and may jeopardize his training, owing to the fact that he will be fighting Nate Diaz in a rematch in which McGregor lost via submission.
News is still breaking at the moment. More updates to come.
