Juan Manuel Marquez Vs Erik Morales Set: Manny Pacquiao May Be Next

By Geno McGahee

RSR was just informed that Juan Manuel Marquez, 52-5-1, 38 KO’s, will be taking on fellow Mexican legend, Erik Morales, 51-6, 35 KO’s, on April 16th in Las Vegas for the WBA and WBO Lightweight Titles.

Both Marquez and Morales have expressed interest in another showdown with Manny Pacquiao and there is the possibility that should Marquez win and when Pacquiao defeats Mosley, the two would finally collide and finish the trilogy that many fans want. Should Morales upset Marquez, the odds of him getting another shot at the man that stopped him twice in devastating fashion are long.

The Marquez-Morales bout is the last hoorah for Morales and an important fight for Marquez, the Mexican fighter that has felt slighted, living in the shadow of Morales and Marco Antonio Barrera until he made his breakthrough.

Stay tuned to RSR for further developments.
