UFC Shocks the MMA World: Three Big Names Released

The UFC has just confirmed the releases of light heavyweight Brandon Vera as well as lightweights Marcus Davis, and Antonio McKee following their performances at UFC 125.
For Brandon Vera, he has dropped 3 straight fights after dropping a unanimous decision to Thiago Silva at 125. Marcus Davis won eight of his first ten in the UFC before dropping four of his last five prompting his release after losing by KO at 125 to Jeremy Stephens.
Antonio McKee’s release is the most baffling, McKee lost a split decision to Jacob Volkmann and it was McKee’s UFC debut and his first loss in since 2003. McKee has a MMA record of 25-4-2 and released a statement via text message to MMAJunkie.com:
“Time for me to get my hustle on now, homie, No looking back. (I’m going to) destroy anything and everything in my way.”
