NFL Hall of Famer Lawrence Taylor Rape Trial Settled
Lawrence Taylor seems like he’s always been in some sort of trouble. The former NFL Hall of Fame linebacker is widely considered one of the best in history and has been forgiven for most of his mistakes by his fans including drug use and a terrible pro wrestling match with Bam Bam Bigelow at Wrestlemania XI.
In May of 2009, he was arrested for statutory rape of a 16 year old prostitute. This was just another in a long line of legal problems, including several car accidents where he left the scene of the accident. The rape was obviously much more serious.
As with most celebrities, prison time is avoided and it was once again, as Lawrence Taylor would plead out to sexual misconduct and patronizing a prostitute. He will avoid all jail time, and serve a six year probation, but the big loss will be that of the potential commercial endorsements which he once had.
Despite taking the plea, Taylor did insist that he was innocent and thought that the girl was 19.
