Strikeforce Champion Nick Diaz Shocking Comments Rattle MMA World

By Marc Anthony

“He doesn’t want to work hard like me. That’s the problem…or somebody can pay me a couple (expletive) million dollars and I’ll move up to 185 pounds and fight him…Manny Pacquiao’s making 40 (expletive) million dollars. GSP’s making a couple million dollars.” -Nick Diaz

Nick expressed that Cyborg is a good fighter. “I expect him to be training really hard for this fight.” He also feels that Cyborg coming down in weight is a good thing and looks better at 170lbs. Nick also expressed interest in doing a Grand Prix at 170 “ That does sounds cool” stated Diaz.

Jacare stated that he wanted to show everyone that he has improved his cardio, his strength and his jiu-jitsu technique for the upcoming fight. He is very focused for this fight with Lawler and when asked what would be a dream fight for him? “Robbie Lawler” stated Jacare.

During the conference call Diaz remarked that eating raw foods and following a vegan diet helps him feel good but to get his food he needs to travel to a different city. “I have been doing that since the age of 15 years old so I am used to it” Diaz explained.

Diaz also does triathlons when not competing in MMA and because of that it has helped his training for fights “It helps me stay in shape to get in shape for MMA training.”

Nick Diaz feels his best weight is at 170 but would move up in weight if the money was right. “I said if I was going go off track…screw with my whole season…screw with my whole year…if it’s going to screw with my capabilities fighting at 170 pounds? If I am going do that I would like to get paid in full. I would like to have a reason for doing that, not just do that at everyone’s else’s convenience…I would like to get paid something, you know, extra. Double, triple, something crazy for me to do something spectacular to go up in weight and fight at that weight” explained Diaz.

Jason Miller has challenged Nick Diaz to fight him at 185. Diaz, who is the current Welterweight Champion, declined and had this message for Miller: “They were talking about making me move weight. I said, tell his (expletive) to (expletive) get in shape and make weight like I do. It’s (expletive) hard enough for me to make 170 pounds. He acts like he wouldn’t be able to do it. He doesn’t want to work hard like me. That’s the problem…or somebody can pay me a couple (expletive) million dollars and I’ll move up to 185 pounds and fight him…Pacquiao’s making 40 (expletive) million dollars. GSP’s making a couple million dollars.”

Nick Diaz feels that the UFC makes easy fights for certain fighters. “I corned a guy to fight Josh Koscheck. He had two fights in his life (he doesn’t really fight)… he was set up to fight Josh Koscheck. Then he takes an (expletive) whopping. That’s what I am saying they make easy fights for those guys. This guy has six or seven fights all easy guys. I haven’t fought anybody like that guy that I had brought to fight against Josh Koscheck.”

Diaz also said “When you bring up and tell me that they are the best fighters in the world. It’s a (expletive) joke… These guys that are ranked up there… lets fight then and make it happen. I want to fight Anderson Silva and George St Pierre”.
