Boxer Who Will Soon Beat Floyd Mayweather, JR’s Record

Wanheng Menayothin, 49-0, 17 KO’s is not the most popular WBC world champion in the minimum weight category (up to 47.6 kg), but the Thai is one step away from breaking the record in the number of victories without defeats of the popular ex-leader of the pound-4-pound rating Floyd Mayweather, JR., 50-0, 27 KO’s. Thai boxer nicknamed “dwarf giant” quietly records victories one by one, owning the most prestigious title in his little-known weight.

Menayothin, 1.57 m tall and weighing only 47.6 kg, is more compact and much less wealthy than “Money” Mayweather, JR., an undefeated former world champion in five divisions, who last year, being retired, made a fight with the MMA star Conor McGregor and received a guaranteed fee of $100 million.

This spring, Wanheng can repeat Mayweather, JR.’s record at 50-0 and leave his mark on the history of boxing.

His 50th fight in April or May can take place against the strong 23-year-old Panamanian Lamoy Estrada in Thailand, and true fans and boxing enthusiasts are waiting for this fight, but not a global audience that chooses the sensational events like the McGregor Vs Mayweather, JR. Different free sports predictions write about success of Wanheng Menayothin in 2018 – 2019.

With Sweat and Blood

His record of 49 wins with 17 knockouts was earned against the relatively strong opposition. Many of them are regional champions, or official contenders and strong prospects. And in general, he dominates the division with a minimum weight and holds the belt of the World Boxing Council (WBC) for the fourth year and last 14 fights held in the rank of champion.

With his current statistics, he has already caught up with the legendary champion of the past years, Rocky Marciano (49-0), but he does not focus on these figures too much.

“I never thought about breaking a record, I just want to win every fight, like all the athletes who do not want to lose. I just want to continue winning until I leave the box, “Wanheng said.

Wanheng comes from poor rural northeast of Thailand. As a teenager, he viewed boxing as a way out of poverty and moved to Bangkok at the age of 12 to study in one of the boxing sections.

“When he came to us, he did not have any qualities for which he could be called as future boxing star or champion, but now he has reached the top and he is worthy of respect,” said the gym coach Chayasyat Menayothin, which to this day holds this boxing section.

The legal name of Wanheng is Chayaphon Moonsri, so do not think that it is one of his relatives. Like many fighters in Thailand, he has several names for easier pronunciation.

At the moment, Wanheng is already in the process of preparing for the historic 50th fight. To this battle as well as to all the others he is prepared by 54-year-old trainer Kanon Bunroyd. Wanheng spends intense daily sparring and fitness sessions, and the knocking of punches landing on heavy bags fills the gym. This guy has paved his way to success from the very bottom. As already mentioned, he did not have any special boxing gift. Each of his skills he acquired through exceptional diligence and faith in his own success.
