How Donald J. Trump’s Idea of Nationalism Will Ultimately End In Failure

When I hear the phrase “Make America Great Again”, you would think I would automatically feel a since of pride, however I don’t because the type of Nationalism that Trump wants will forever destroy what our country has built since World War II.

When Trump shouts at his political rallies I get visions of the rallies of Adolf Hitler in Nazi Germany. Hitler came to power after Germany was destroyed economically after World War I and because of the failure the League of Nations, which was founded by President Woodrow Wilson. Germany was a broken country in economic ruin and Hitler had lifted them up out of their despair. They became his sheep that would lead the world to destruction.

Donald J. Trump and Vladimir Putin are using tactics in attempts to destroy NATO and possibly the United Nations. This may lead the entire world to march to the drum of isolationism. To end globalism means that they get to rule the world and therefore have no accountability for their actions. Woodrow Wilson was ahead of his time with the League of Nations. Instead of punishing Germany severely for the outbreak of World War I with heavy fines, the goal of the League of Nations was to maintain World Peace and prevent the world from having another world war. They wanted to do this by disarmament, collective security, and negotiation. When it came down to it none of the countries who were in the League of Nations wanted to support each other on a military basis. This idea of isolationism was an utter failure and 20 years later we are once again in a world war.

We are a global world and in order for our survival we must support one another both militarily and economically. As a world we must be interdependent on each other economically. With tariffs that Trump is proposing will put our economy in a nose dive. We will become a broken country and Trump is counting on that. He will be like “I told you so “and therefore appear to swoop in “save us”. He is banking on this. He wants complete power to rule. This is a democracy and as people we won’t tolerate this. Once he achieves his goal he will ensure that people of all walks of life won’t have opportunities that we once had. This will be a country full of the chosen people. Building that wall does just that. What Trump fails to realize is that we are a nation of immigrants. That is what has been the key to our survival since the Revolutionary War.

By telling the people that the media is the enemy of the state and “things are not as they appear”, is a page out of the tactics of Adolf Hitler. We as Americans must wake up! We must be on the right side of history. We don’t want to be the former United States of America. Please raise your voices loud and clear and vote in the “Blue Wave”.
