Donald Trump Calls Omarosa a Dog and It Is No Surprise!
[AdSense-A]
Perhaps the most horrible thing about racism is it creates apathy and a lack of empathy for people based on race. In the last 11 years we have seen Michael Vick sentenced to prison for dog fighting and many laws changed due to the abuse of dogs. Senators passed legislation in near record time to prevent dogs from being put in the overhead compartment of an airplane. It is a fair bet that most Americans would be in a collective outrage if Donald Trump abused a dog.
So why is he allowed to abuse human beings? We have witnessed Trump insult a handicapped person, women and people of color but where is the outrage? Former White House aid Omarosa Manigault Newman claims to have a tape of Donald Trump using the “N” word. Trump’s response to this was to tweet and call her a “Lowlife” and a “Dog.” The sad reality is this no surprise. Even the White House press secretary cannot guarantee that there is no tape of Trump using the “N” word.
Their only response is to claim that he fights fire with fire and he is equal opportunity with his insults. To his support group, I ask, how is this leadership? What exactly is desirable about a self-proclaimed equal opportunity insulter? Donald Trump called a black woman a dog. It seems all day his supporters have read from the same script. Everyone seems to exclaim that is was not a racist comment, but even if we play that game, I wonder how is this action of a good and decent man?
Racism has clouded the lines of human decency in this country for a very long time. Claiming that he is an equal opportunity attacker only highlights that fact that he is classless and un-presidential! I don’t know about you but I like my President to support equal opportunity for education, employment and healthcare, not insults. It seems like daily Trump invents new ways to sink lower in his use of harsh rhetoric. To all of his supporters I ask. How low is too low? If you saw Trump treat a dog the way you see him treat people would you still follow him?
Think about it.
Remember we are all in this together. Our collective rise is the demise of racism.
