UFC Star Stabbed: Shocking Tragic News
Former UFC lightweight Dan Lauzon (14-4) was stabbed early Thursday morning following an altercation outside of a nightclub in Bridgewater, Mass..
Lauzon, 22, received a non-life threatening stab wound to his shoulder and was hospitalized. His older brother and current UFC lightweight, Joe Lauzon(19-6) confirmed the report on his blog stating in an entry titled “Days Have Started Much Better,” Joe Lauzon wrote he was scheduled to leave on a flight to Iraq Thursday for a goodwill military tour but had to cancel when he received a call around 2 a.m. ET in regards to his brother’s condition. “A little after 2am, I get a call saying my brother was on his way to the emergency room, I rushed out the door and ended up rolling my ankle on the walkway … I got to the hospital and gimp walked my way into the ER and found Dan in one of the rooms. Luckily everything was okay and it wasn’t a big deal as was originally thought.” Lauzon wrote in the blog entry.
The Bridgewater Police Department is still investigating the altercation outside of the nightclub. At the time the story was posted, the other suspects involved had not been identified but they are males.
Lauzon (14-4) debuted for the UFC at the age of 18. He fought three times in the promotion, he was 0-3 and was given his release. Lauzon’s most recent professional fight was Dec. 2, 2010 where he scored a first-round submission via guillotine choke over Damien Trites in a bout in Rhode Island at CES MMA 3-Snow Brawl.
