Andrei Arlovski UFC News
Former UFC heavyweight champion Andrei Arlovski was looking like he was going to retire following his latest loss, which came via first round knockout to Sergei Kharitonov. The loss was Arlovski’s fourth in a row and third by way of knockout. “The Pitbull” however, recently released a video chat on his website informing everyone why he won’t be hanging up the gloves anytime soon. “Absolutely not,” Arlovski said of retiring. “First of all, I’m not going to finish my career like this. Definitely, I’m going to keep fighting, and I know it’s impossible to fix all these problems. Honestly, I don’t know why I keep losing.” Arlovski said walking away from MMA after a KO loss is simply not an option for him citing he has “too much pride” and that he “can’t retire like this.”
The native of Belarus indicated he will be changing up things in his next training camp in order to regain his status as an elite heavyweight contender in MMA when he eventually returns to action. His return timetable is unknown. Arlovski went on to say “Definitely, I’m going to change some things, Absolutely not going to f*cking retire. I know it’s impossible to come back on the top, and I know it’s going to be hard, and it’s going to be very difficult for me. But I’m definitely going to do it.”
Arlovski still has the drive and he still has the skill but there does come a time in every fighters life when he hits the point of “losing it”. Arlovski seems to have finally reached that point.
