UFC 127: Round by Round Shocking Results

Main Event BJ Penn vs Jon Fitch
Round 1
The main event starts out with penn shooting immediately and working fitch to the fence, both men work from the clinch with the smaller Penn controlling Fitch on the cage wall. Fitch circles out and pins BJ on the fence, BJ is relaxed as Fitch works for a single off the fence, Penn is landing shots from the clinch causing Fitch to drop down for a takedown and Fitch cant get Penn down.
Penn reverses and lands a few shots then lands a takedown on Fitch, BJ traps Fitch’s arm and takes his back working for a submission locking in a body triangle. Fitch rolls and breaks the body triangle and BJ locks the body triangle back in and pulls Fitch back down trying to get a rear naked, Penn loses the triangle and Fitch rolls into Penn’s guard and works some ground and pound but BJ gets to his feet quickly. Fitch has Penn against the fence and still can’t secure a takedown, he is working desperatley for one. The round closes with a flurry from Penn which causes Fitch to drop down again but the horn sounds.
Round 2
Fitch throws a high kick to start the round and Penn engages and Fitch gets a takedown, Fitch works Penn against the fence and works ground and pound with whatever he can. Penn gets back to his feet and Fitch has him pinned against the fence, both fighters brawl in the clinch and Penn opens up causing Fitch to drop again, Fitch keeps BJ against the cage and Penn has opened a cut with an elbow followed by a flurry. BJ reverses on Fitch putting him into the cage wall and works from the clinch blood is pouring out of Fitch’s nose, Penn breaks and opens up with strikes closes and gets another takedown on Fitch. BJ takes his back again and Fitch falls back, Fitch spins and rolls into BJ’s guard identical to round 1. Fitch works ground and pound on Penn and BJ is taking good shots from Fitch, Penn absorbs the ground and pound and is having a hard time keeping the bigger Fitch off of him. BJ gets up as the horn sounds.
Round 3
The final round begins with Fitch landing a big right and takedown, Fitch is in BJ’s guard moving him to the fence working ground and pound on Penn. Penn pushes him off and gets back up, Fitch lands another takedown Penn quickly gets back to his feet, Fitch tries to take BJ’s back and puts Penn back on the mat and works his ground and pound, Penn is struggling with the bigger Fitch but Fitch isn’t doing much damage. Fitch is working his normal game plan of making the fight a grind on the ground. BJ is being worked with ground and pound from Fitch and is getting nowhere, Fitch is dominating Penn with ground and pound but not doing much damage to Penn. Penn can’t get up and Fitch is still padding points with his ground and pound Fitch dominates this round in his typical ground and pound style til the fight ends.
The Judges score the bout (29-28 Fitch) (28-28) (28-28) the bout is a Majority Draw
Co Main Event Michael Bisping vs Jorge Rivera
Bisping enters the cage and starts jawing at Rivera, As the ref tells both men the rules, there is a staredown from both men that is full of hatred for one another there is no touching up.
Round 1
The bout starts with both men feeling each other out, Rivera starts throwing first missing everything. Rivera lands a kick and Bisping backs up, both men are cautious and Rivera lands a one two Bisping shoots in and gets the easy takedown. Bisping grabs the fence the ref tells him to let go and they stand, both men counter punch each other and Rivera lands a right hand causing Bisping to grab a single but Rivera stuffs it. Bisping gets a takedown and works from Rivera’s guard, Bisping lands a punch and then an illegal knee to the downed Rivera and Rivera is hurt badly. The doctors check out Rivera and stand him up after a few minutes, Rivera says he can continue and Bisping loses a point. The action resumes and Rivera fires off a one two missing, Rivera lands a big kick and a jab and Bisping backs away. Bisping shoots and gets stuffed, Rivera throws a kick Bisping blocks and both men jab at each other, Bisping one twos and gets another takedown. Bisping lands some ground and pound and Rivera gets up to end the round. Bisping gets in Rivera’s face and jaws at him after the round ends.
Round 2
Bisping starts round 2 with a leg kick and Rivera counters and rocks Bisping, Bisping recovers and fires a knee and lands a leg kick. Bisping has recovered and fires a one two and lands both shots on Rivera, Rivera is slowing down and Bisping unloads a right hand and starts to tee off with punches and knees. Rivera is against the cage covering up and Bisping is attacking Rivera looking for the finish, Rivera goes down and Bisping gets the TKO Stoppage at 1:54.
Bisping after the fight gets in Rivera’s face and tells him to apologize and the referee pulls Bisping away.

George Sotiropoulos vs Dennis Siver
Round 1
Round 1 kicks off with the crowd chanting like a soccer game for G-Sot, both man are feeling each other out for the first 30 seconds until G-Sot shoots and misses. Both men continue to feel each other out and G-Sot lands a right hook and both men paw at each other, Siver kicks and G-Sot catches and drives Siver into the cage, Siver finally breaks away without going down and Siver clips G-Sot. G-Sot shoots and is stuffed by Siver, both men continue to counter one another and feel each other out. Siver throws a spinning wheel kick misses and clips G-Sot with a punch, Siver floors him with a monster left hook and G-Sot gets up and Siver lands another left hook flooring him again, Siver tries to finish and can’t and G-Sot gets up and is in survival mode. Siver is stalking and lands another hook, G-Sot throws a head kick and misses Siver answers and throws a turning sidekick and misses to end the round.
Round 2
Both fighters start where they left off, Siver throws wildly and slips but G-Sot doesn’t engage, G-Sot is now jabbing to keep the distance but Siver keeps getting inside and missing. Siver finally lands a quick right and both fighters pitter pat until G-Sot shoots again and Siver just stuffs him again. G-Sot grabs a single and Siver shrugs it off, both fighters feel each other out for most of the round with G-Sot landing his jab then lands a right hand that momentarily stuns Siver, he flurries and shoots but Siver stuffs again. Siver lands a one two and jabs too get space, G-Sot throws a combo and lands a body shot which Siver answers with a head kick to end round 2.
Round 3
The crowd roars to start round 3 and the fighters engage, Siver lands a one two jab head kick combo and G-Sot shoots in again and is stuffed. Siver lands a leg kick and continues to throw them occasionally, both men feel each other out and both men flurry, Siver throws a front kick which lands but is countered with a jab, both men flurry again with G-Sot winning the exchange. Siver lands a leg kick and stuffs another takedown then lands a 5 punch combo to the body, Siver leg kicks and jabs and dances around G-Sot, Siver lands a spinning back kick to the body that hurts G-Sot. G-Sot recovers and keeps coming forward but is being peppered with leg kicks and jabs, Siver lands a right with 15 secs left and with under ten Siver throws another spinning side kick missing at the horn.

Chris Lytle vs Brian Ebersol
Round 1
The bout starts with Ebersol trying a cartwheel kick which glances. Lytle answers with a flurry then Ebersol lands a modified superman punch. Ebersol circles and ducks under missing a takedown, Lytle lands a series of body shots both men circle each other, Ebersol gets a single leg takedown and Lytle lands a guillotine in which Ebersol reverses and presses Lytle against the cage. Lytle is then caught in a guillotine and works his way into a stall position, both men then try to stand and Lytle locks in another guillotine which he lets go of, both men stand against the cage and drop down again. Lytle attempts the guillotine again but switched to a triangle and lost position, Lytle then transitions into a knee bar in which Ebersol reverses and lands a series of shoulders and cuts Lytle open under the left eye to end the round.
Round 2
Both men smile then start round 2, Ebersol throws a body kick and Lytle responds with a combination. Ebersol throws another unorthodox shot that misses, Ebersol glances a spinning back kick and then Lytle lands an uppercut, Lytle throws two big rights landing one, Lytle unloads two more and lands them both. Ebersol circles and throws a body kick, Lytle throws haymakers missing everything, Ebersol lands a leg kick that Lytle answers with one of his own, Ebersol lands another body kick and Lytle flurries. Lytle lands another body shot and both men stall while standing. Ebersol shoots and can’t get the takedown, when Lytle stands Ebersol lands a huge knee flooring Lytle, Ebersol attempts a Darce choke but cant get it, Lytle is rocked but is recovering quickly, both men stand and Ebersol lands a right hand as he has Lytle pressed against the cage, Ebersol slams Lytle, Lytle attempts a guillotine but can’t get it Ebersol in the guard working the shoulders again to end the round.
Round 3
Both men touch up and Ebersol tries the cartwheel again and misses, Lytle starts to open up strikes landing a combination against the cage. Lytle then tries a standing kimura then both men drop down, Lytle then tries another guillotine but can’t get it, Ebersol gets up but Lytle puts him back down still attempting the guillotine but Lytle is on top this time, Lytle locks in the choke but Ebersol somehow escapes. Lytle tries again but can’t do it, Ebersol works ground and pound and both men are back to their feet extremely gassed. Ebersol pins Lytle to the cage and lands punches to the thigh from the clinch, the ref calls time as Ebersol loses his mouth piece that came out from a slap by Lytle. Action resumes and Lytle lands a left hook and kick to the body, Ebersol clinches and gets the takedown and Lytle attempts a knee bar, Ebersol dominates on the ground and lands ground and pound until the end of the round.

Kyle Noke vs Chris Camozzi
Round 1
The fight starts with both men feeling each other out with jabs and check kicks. Noke gets the takedown about 55 seconds into the round, Noke gets the mount and works some ground and pound, Noke then works his way to Camozzi’s back, Noke secures his leg hooks and locks in the rear naked choke forcing Camozzi to tap out at 1:35 of Round 1. Noke is victorious in his native Austrailia in his first fight back since 2008.
