Chael Sonnen & Matt Lindland: Team Quest Oregon Shocking Breaking News
The legal front for Team Quest’s Oregon hasn’t looked good since Chael Sonnen was busted for money laundering. But now Matt Lindland added himself to the mix of court cases also, as Sonnen is still awaiting sentencing for his guilty plea in the real estate fraud/money laundering case, Lindland is in dispute with Dan Henderson over the ownership rights to Team Quest but that isn’t the legal issue which I am referring.
According to the Willamette Week, Lindland can add another lawsuit to his schedule, as Gonzalo Aldana Gamboa is taking him to Multnomah County Circuit Court for allegedly stealing his six marijuana plants. Gamboa alleges that Lindland stole his plants, which were being grown on Lindland’s property under Lindland’s permission for Gamboa’s licensed medical marijuana patients, from the grow site to Lindland’s shed to cure them, but refused Gamboa access to the plants when he returned for harvest. Gamboa is seeking $122,880 from Lindland, based on the street price of the plants, which Gamboa’s lawyer, William Macke, admitted it could be very difficult. “It may be a little bit of a long shot legally,” said Macke.
Lindland last appeared inside the cage against Robbie Lawler, getting knocked out in the first round in December. With Team Quest Oregon going into so many legal woes, it may only be a matter of time before they stop training MMA and start taking legal courses.
