Dana White Shocks the MMA World: Major UFC Announcement
The UFC has made an announcement that will please everyone on the east coast of the united State all UFC events will now start an hour earlier and it all starts with the UFC 129 fight card which will feature Georges St. Pierre and Jake Shields in the main event for the UFC welterweight championship.
The new kick-off time for all future UFC broadcasts with exception to UFC 128 and UFC: Fight Night 24 will be at 9 pm ET/6 pm PT and the duration of the events will remain the same at three hours long giving MMA fans more MMA which is something we desperately needed for this addiction for combat we suffer from.
UFC 129 takes place April 30th, 2011 at the Rogers Centre in Toronto, Ontario, Canada and the outcome of the main event could possibly set up the most talked about superfight that doesn’t involve Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao between St. Pierre and current pound-for-pound king and UFC middleweight champion Anderson Silva
In the other title fight, featherweight Jose Aldo will make his first belt defense in the UFC which was delayed on January 1, 2011 due to injury. Aldo will face Canadian Mark Hominick and Aldo’s return is highly anticipated amongst any fight fan, as he is probably the closest thing to a perfect striker ever. But there is a third fight with bigger implications than a title as MMA legend Randy “The Natural” Couture will possibly make his last appearance in the cage EVER against fellow former light heavyweight champion Lyoto “The Dragon” Machida. This could be Machida’s last bout as well as UFC President Dana White has said this is a must win for Machida or he will be cut.
