Smackdown starts Backstage Segment- Teddy Long tells Edge that if he or Alberto Del Rio gets into any physical confrontation with one another before Wrestlemania, they will both be banned from the event.

Match 1- Rey Mysterio defeated CM Punk

Rey had a quick start then missed a flying cross body allowing CM to gain control. Punk mainly focused his attacks on the ribs of Mysterio. Eventually Punk goes for an attack off the ropes and Rey counters with a dropkick to gain the upper-hand. Rey hits Punk with a beautiful Asai moonsault ala Ultimo Dragon to all you big wrestling fans out there. Cody Rhodes runs in and the match ends in disqualification. Rey is helped off by officials.

Segment 2-Edge and Christian are shown backstage. Edge says he’s still going to be in the corner for Christian tonight. Christian walks away.

Match 2- Edge defeated Drew McIntyre

As soon as the bell rings Edge goes after Drew. Drew gains the upper-hand working on Edge’s arm. Edge eventually gains control and hits a spear for the win.

Match 3-LayCool defeated Rosa Mendez & Kelly Kelly

Layla has the “Snooki hair do” and they were both fist bumping not even wearing their ring gear. Rosa and Kelly go for the attack. This match was quick thank goodness with the match ending with Layla hitting a reverse neck breaker for the win. After the match Laycool cut a promo saying their opponents for Wrestlemania are no challenge for them.

Match 4-Wade Barrett defeated Kofi Kingston to become the NEW Intercontinental Championship.

Kofi was going for Trouble in Paradise but the ref got distracted. He hit Trouble on Heath Slater allowing Barrett to hit Wasteland for the pin. After the match Justin Gabriel hit a 450 on Kofi.

Segment-3 Undertaker is on stage cutting a promo. He says Triple H has figured out how to win. Undertaker then says he can’t wait till Monday Night Raw to tell Triple H what he thinks to his face.

Match 5-Jake Swagger defeated R-Truth

R-Truth had a close call… He launched himself over top rope and it looked like Swagger barely caught him evading what looked like a horrific botch. Quick match Swagger locked in an ankle lock for the win.

Main Event-Christian w/ Edge defeated Alberto Del Rio

Alberto has Brodus Clay with him. During the match Brodus attacked Edge on the outside. Edge returned the favor with a spear then attacks Brodus with a chair for last weeks assault. This distracts Alberto, allowing Christian to hit the Impaler/Unprettier for the win now called the “KillSwitch.” Edge looks like he’s going to attack Alberto but Christian stops him. Christian hits Alberto with the chair instead and that concludes this week’s SmackDown.

There will be no tapings next week as it would be the week before Wrestlemania and WWE won’t risk injuries to their Superstars and will use the show to recap the events leading up to the “Grandest Stage of Them All.”
