Floyd Mayweather JR: FAN ASSAULTED FOR ASKING ABOUT MANNY PACQUIAO

By Geno McGahee

Anthony Cliff, a boxing fan, has filed a lawsuit against Floyd Mayweather, JR., over an incident involving one of the bodyguards assaulting him. What allegedly prompted the assault was Cliff’s inquiry as to why Floyd hasn’t faced Manny Pacquiao yet. He was allegedly “beat up” by the bodyguard.

According to reports, Floyd stated that Cliff was being very disrespectful by asking him about the Pacquiao fight and that he gave his bodyguards the green light to beat the man. Attorney for Cliff, Afshin Tadayon stated that “not only does Mr. Cliff want to see a fight against Mr. Pacquiao, but so to many boxing fans. So, it was just a question.”

It is the fight that everyone wants to see, but both fighters are currently tied up. Floyd Mayweather, JR., has to worry about WBC Welterweight Champ, Victor Ortiz, while Manny Pacquiao is on a collision course with Juan Manuel Marquez, wrapping up their trilogy. If they both come out victorious, which is the most likely scenario, they could meet up in the biggest fight in the recent history of boxing, but this is an old story. The boxing fans have been teased by a showdown several times and have been left disappointed. We have no reason to believe that it would not happen again, although boxing fans are used to being beat up and coming back for more. Let’s keep our fingers crossed for a 2012 showdown.

In the meantime, there are several lawsuits that Floyd has to settle, with the Cliff one being the most recent. Details are still sketchy as to what happened that night, but they should come out in the days and weeks to come. Stay tuned to RSR for further developments.
