Roger Goodell Exposed Again – Breaking NFL News

NFLBy “Bad” Brad Berkwitt

Roger Goodell’s decision to suspend Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson has been stricken down by a U. S. District Judge.

Yesterday, Judge David Doty reversed the league’s punishment and subsequent affirmation by an arbitrator of Peterson’s suspension until at least April 15, 2015. He found that the NFL disregarded ” the law of the shop”, and thus failed to meet its duty under the collective bargaining agreement. As expected, the NFL is appealing this ruling.

In similar fashion, former Baltimore Ravens running back Ray Rice won his appeal, which vacated Goodell’s indefinite suspension following his domestic abuse charges.

It is also being reported that Greg Hardy, Jacksonville Jaguars’ Defense End, is now seeking immediate reinstatement after spending most of last season on Goodell’s exempt list. Hardy’s case was dismissed, and his ex-girlfriend is refusing to talk about the incident that lead to his arrest and subsequent ouster from the league. While it was not termed as such, Hardy was held out of 15 of the 16 games last season.

One must wonder how Goodell’s handling of these incidents will affect his future as the NFL Commissioner. The Courts reversals of his decisions imply that the commissioner is either unwilling or unable to adhere to the contractural agreement as outlined by the CBA. Sooner or later, there must be accountability for his ineptitude.
