Oy Vay are you going to hear it today… RSR readers when you get to be in your 80’s more than your bagels hurt, I will tell you that. Sadie is in love with this new kitchen, which has freed me up finally to really write. Everyone seems to be talking about whom will Floyd Mayweather, JR., fight next? I see he is talking about Andre Berto. zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz’s How about going out with a bang and fight “GGG” at a catch weight? It would take huge bagels for him to face “GGG”, and Floyd never had those, so get ready boxing fans for a huge disappointment when he finally names his next victim, I mean opponent.

AngAngelo Dundee…. Simply put, the nicest warmest guy I have ever known who I met through Al many years ago on Miami Beach. In all the years, I knew Angelo, I never heard a bad word about him which is a rarity in boxing, let alone this world. Bradley has some great stories with him and his father when James “Quick” Tillis trained at the same gym and Angelo worked with him and other fighters. When Ang passed in 2012, and I got the call, I truly wept. Rest in Peace my dear friend. I have no doubt he is up there ringside with Al.

Tony Martin… What a mensch he was. Al and he used to play cards on Miami Beach when he would perform in town. His real name was Alvin Morris and he Tony Martinhad a great voice/was one handsome SOB in his younger singing days. Tony lived to be 98. He is a crooner who never got his just due. You got it from me, Tony.

My Pal Al (“Bad” Brad’s Father)… When Al worked at many high class restaurants in Miami and Miami Beach back in the 50’s and 60’s, they always fed the waiters shit. Al was not having it. He would pull something off a plate for example, if you had six ribs, you got four ribs and he would make a plate for himself. Anyone who partnered up with him or when he was a Head Waiter, he always took care of his crew or partners. Just writing this and visualizing it, cracks me up. I truly miss my old pal. As we reflect on our lives especially at my age, (85), and knowing I am in the final chapter, I look forward to seeing Al again up there. If I know him, he will be at the pearly gates to welcome Ole Packy.

Max KThe Chutzpah Award… Max Kellerman one of my tribe gets the Chutzpah Award. He is honest, always takes time for fans I see come up to him at fights and talks to the fighters not down to them (cough cough Jim Lampley). He has the utmost respect for boxers along with the sport of boxing. Boychick from “Boom Boom”, keep up the great work.
