At Least 9 Dead and Many Wounded In San Jose, California Shooting
Shots rang out in the early hours at a Valley Transit Authority rail yard in San Jose, California. Reports of multiple 911 calls were recorded at approximately 6:30 am this morning. At least nine people are dead, including the shooter, and others have been injured.
There are multiple scenes involved in the shooting, that have attracted the attention of the FBI. The shooter killed himself around 10 am, and at 10:30, a house belonging to a still unnamed VTA employee, was on fire. It’s been reported that the fire actually began BEFORE the shooting started.
A reunification center has been set up for friends and family of employees at the rail yard to await news on their loved ones. At the time, the police have not provided the age or race of the shooter.
Only that he is male. A motive for the shooting has not been released.
