Actor Stuart Damon Dead at 84- Entertainment News

Soap veteran and Emmy Award winning actor Stuart Damon, known for his 30 year portrayal of Dr. Alan Quartermaine on the long running soap opera GENERAL HOSPITAL (1963-), died June 29, 2021, after a battle with renal failure. He was 84.

Stuart Damon was born Stuart Michael Zonis on February 5, 1937, in Brooklyn, New York. Damon’s career began in theatre, appearing in a series of productions on Broadway and in Great Britain. His experience in the theatre led the way for his future career in film and television. One of Damon’s earliest roles was as the Prince in the 1965 version of Rodgers and Hammerstein’s CINDERELLA, starring Lesley Ann Warren in the title role.

His additional film and television credits include THE SAINT (1962-1969), THE CHAMPIONS (1968-1969), A TOUCH OF CLASS (1973), SPACE:1999 (1975-1977), FANTASY ISLAND (1977-1984), HOTEL (1983-1988), PERRY MASON: THE CASE OF THE KILLER KISS (1993), ON OUR OWN (1994-1995), DIAGNOSIS MURDER (1993-2001), PORT CHARLES (1997-2003), DAYS OF OUR LIVES (1965-), AS THE WORLD TURNS (1956-2010), and RAIN FROM STARS (2013).
