Kari Lake Refuses To Say If She Will Accept Loss
The GQP’s nominee for Governor in Arizona repeatedly declined to say if she would accept the election results if she was not the winner. Now where have we heard that one before?
Arizona’s Republican gubernatorial candidate Kari Lake repeatedly dodged answering the question on CNN’s “State of the Union” as she clearly continues taking the same route as her far-right affiliates. Lake continued to attack her Democratic opponent, Arizona’s Secretary of State Katie Hobbs. In between attacks, Lake said twice, “I’m going to win the election, and I will accept that result.”
Lake is a former newscaster and is Trump endorsed (shocker). She’s spent plenty of time pushing Trump’s election fraud claims denying the results of the 2020 election, going so far as to call President Joe Biden an illegitimate president. Back in June, she made claims that the midterm elections would be tainted with fraud. “They’re going to have to cheat even harder in order to win this,” Lake said during a debate against other Republican candidates before the August primary.
Her Democratic challenger Katie Hobbs has refused to debate Lake. She defended her stance on “State of the Union” in a separate interview. Hobbs also accused Lake of “only interested in creating a spectacle.” Previously, Lake interrupted Hobbs at a taped town hall event where it was in the rules the two would not be debating. She’s also called Hobbs a “coward” over the decision.
Kari Lake is the epitome of the modern day GOP’s candidate lineup. Loud-mouthed, ignorant, and full of hate for anyone that is outside their ideal definition of normal. I have faith that Kari Lake will go on to join Madison Cawthorn in the abyss of people nobody misses. It just can’t get here fast enough.
