KILLER GRIZZLY BEAR: Yellowstone National Park Tragedy UPDATE
The death of the male hiker at Yellowstone National Park is the first in 25 years, but is has force the shut down of the campgrounds and trails near the attack area, Canyon Village, which sits in the middle of Sprawling Park.
The identity of the man mauled to death is being withheld at this time, but we were informed that he is a 57 year old male. The mauling occurred in the peak weekend of tourism to the park, with the last bear related death occurring in 1986.
The problem is that the bear population is growing and therefore, the possibilities are greatly increasing of human-bear encounters. Grizzly bears are territorial and when they have cubs, it makes it that much more dangerous.
