Beloved Actress Teri Garr Dies at 79 – Entertainment News

Tributes are pouring in all over social media in memory of actress Teri Garr. The beloved star of films such as YOUNG FRANKENSTEIN (1974) and TOOTSIE (1982), passed away October 29, in Los Angeles after a long battle with multiple sclerosis. She was 79.
Known for her comedic roles, Garr was a mainstay in film and television throughout the 1970s, 80s and 90s and the early 2000s. She was featured as a dancer in the film VIVA LAS VEGAS (1964), starring Elvis Presley and Ann-Margret. Fans of the television series FRIENDS (1994-2004), will remember Garr for her guest-starring role as Phoebe Abbott, the mother to Lisa Kudrow’s character, Phoebe Buffay. Garr appeared in three episodes of the series.
Garr’s additional filmography includes THAT GIRL (1966-1971), THE ODD COUPLE (1970-1975), THE BLACK STALLION (1979), FAERIE TALE THEATRE (1982-1987), MR. MOM (1983, ADVENTURES IN WONDERLAND (1992-1994), GOOD ADVICE (1993-1994), SABRINA THE TEENAGE WITCH (1996-2003), CASPER MEETS WENDY (1998), DICK (1999), UNACCOMPANIED MINORS (2006), and KABLUEY (2007).
