Abdullah the Butcher WWE/TNA SHOCKER – Hepatitis C Lawsuit Looming

By Sean Farrell

I have come across a very interesting piece of news in the pro wrestling world. A former independent wrestler by the name of Devon Nicholson has filed a 6.5 million dollar lawsuit in the Ontario Superior Court of Justice against Larry Shreve…Many of you know Shreve as the legendary Abdullah the Butcher, a current WWE Hall of Famer.

The lawsuit stems from a match the two had back in 2007 in Ottawa, Ontario, where Nicholson is accusing Shreve of cutting him with a razor blade without his permission. Nicholson goes on and alleges that Shreve’s blood mixed with his own and gave him the disease Hepatitis C. Nicholson learned of his illness back in mid-2009. That September, WWE rescinded their three-year contract offer to Nicholson, allegedly on the basis of his disease making him a considered “health risk”.

According to Nicholson, his lawyer met with Shreve in September 2010 in Atlanta, Georgia, and he agreed to provide blood work. The suit alleges, however, Shreve never provided the promised sample or results of the testing.

It has been rumored for a few years now that Shreve is suffering from Hepatitis C as he has been the poster boy of “blading”, but Shreve posted on his Facebook page on July 17: “I received my medical reports; I have NO hepatitis, or AIDS and anything. My blood tests are ALL negatives then these fools will be prosecuted in justice… Hannibal, Billy Graham and especially New Jack, the most vulgar Boy whom business knew!”

This news gets you thinking about all the diseases and ailments pro wrestlers attempt to cover up to stay employed in this cut throat business of professional wrestling. It also gets you thinking about the lengths these athletes will go to accuse someone to stay relevant.

Nearly three hours of matches, never before have these bouts from Punk’s early career been rebroadcast in their entirety – UNTIL NOW! Watch as CM Punk battles Abyss, Raven, Terry Funk, Sabu, Shane Douglas and many more! Check back to IMPACTWRESTLING.com on Thursday to watch it, plus details on more upcoming “TNA Archives” Superstar Series specials.

I can’t for the life of me find the significance in this other than some hardcore fans making the buys to see Punk back in TNA, or to simply try and show Punk they are on great terms. WWE shouldn’t have a complaint about this either, why should they? Their TOP draw and the sport’s TOP draw at the moment being pushed by anybody in anyway is good for the WWE…The WWE needs all the public pushing they can get, as the REALITY era draws near(I’ve been saying that was the next era after the PG era WELL before Punk did) That includes me too Punk. Nothing wrong with stirring the pot a little, pro wrestlers do it ALL THE TIME.
