Jani Lane: CAUSE OF DEATH – AUTOPSY IN – Warrant Front Man Will Not Be Forgotten

By Geno McGahee

The front man of the popular metal/hair band “Warrant” was found dead in his hotel room, shockingly passing at the age of 47. Warrant was one of the better hair bands of the time with catchy hits like “Sometimes She Cries,” “Uncle Tom’s Cabin,” “Down Boys,” and “Cherry Pie.”

In the lifestyle of the rock star, drugs are rampant and that was the conclusion that many made when they first heard of the passing of Jani Lane. There are reports that pills and alcohol were found in the hotel room, and at the young age of his passing, you have to suspect something other than natural causes.

The autopsy came back inconclusive, but they are awaiting the toxicology reports. It is a sad day for not just metal, but music in general. Jani Lane was a talented singer and writer and brought forth a lot of quality music, including a cover of Queen’s “We Will Rock You” for the movie GLADIATOR.

The cause of the death of Lane is irrelevant. As tragic as the passing is, Warrant and Lane have forever made their mark in music and live on forever through their music and videos. RIP Jani Lane.
