Malcolm-Jamal Warner, Theo Huxtable in “The Cosby Show”, Dies at 54 – Entertainment News

Theo Huxtable is gone.

Malcolm-Jamal Warner died on Sunday, 20 July, in a Costa Rica drowning accident. He was 54.

He started acting at age 9, making appearances in shows like “Fame.” He was a young teen when he was cast as the only son of Heathcliff and Claire Huxtable, in “The Cosby Show,” which ran from 1984 to 1992.

After “The Cosby Show,” a grown-up Warner played Malcolm McGee on the sitcom “Malcolm & Eddie,” which ran for four seasons on UPN.

From 2018 to 2023, he played AJ Austin on “The Resident.”

Besides acting, he was also a Grammy-winning musician, winning best traditional R&B performance in 2015 for the song “Jesus Children”. He was also nominated for a Grammy in 2023 for best spoken word poetry album.

Malcolm-Jamal Warner is survived by his wife, daughter and his mother.
