Collar Bomber ARREST – NEW DETAILS & REASONING

By Geno McGahee

Paul “Doug” Peters, 50, was arrested yesterday by an FBI Swat team at the home of his ex wife in Louisville, Kentucky. He is accused of chaining a fake bomb to a teenager’s neck after breaking into her home in Australia. He was tracked down through an email address on a ransom note.

Peters is an attorney and an investment banker. He owns his own company and once worked for the firm that has ties with the victim’s family. Madeleine Pulver, an 18 year old, is the daughter of an Australian internet executive and was approached by a man with a baseball bat that was wearing a mask who would attach the bomb to her.

It took over 10 hours for the bomb squad to remove the bomb, which wasn’t really a bomb in the end. There were no explosives.

According to reports, there was an extortion note left on the device that warned the family not to call the authorities and demanded that they contact a Gmail account for further instructinos. The note was signed by “Dirk Struan” a character in a novel by the name of “Tai-Pan.”

The teenager was able to describe the man and the incident. She noted that he was “wrinkly,” and in his sixties.
