Amusement Park Brawl: “THIS ALL HAPPENED BECAUSE WE’RE MUSLIM!”

Playland Amusement Park in New York was the place where a large brawl occurred, resulting in the arrest of 15 people. The brawl began when Muslim park-goers became upset that the park did not allow the women to wear their religious headgear on rides.

The ban stems from accidents on rides that didn’t necessarily involve headgear, but forced the park to put forth new and stricter regulations. It is reported that a scuffle started within in the group and then grew as others intervened.

Entisai Ali argued with officers over the head scarf rule and was arrested, prompting more of her group to come forth and also be arrested. One of the group noted that this only happened because they were Muslim, but the rules of the park are the rules of the park, and they probably knew that before attempting to go on the rides.
