Vitali Klitschko –Tomasz Adamek: BOXING RESULTS

By Geno McGahee

WBC Heavyweight Champion, Vitali Klitschko, 43-2, 40 KO’s, defended his title successfully against the former cruiserweight champion and top contender, Tomasz Adamek, 44-2, 28 KO’s.

From the opening round, Vitali controlled the range and that right hand that Adamek has been a sucker for hurt him immensely in this title shot. Vitali just kept pressing forward and jabbing away, beating Tomasz without much feedback. The movement and style of Adamek that gave Kevin McBride and Michael Grant so much trouble, did little to concern Klitschko.

A right hand led to a knockdown, but Tomasz fought bravely, but his game plan was not very good. He never put any pressure on Vitali. He never blitzed him. He stayed on the outside and just ate punch after punch.

The referee rescued the challenger from further beating in the 10th round and Vitali rolls on, and will seek out a new challenger, but there aren’t many challengers left. Can anyone really challenge him or his brother and fellow champion, Wladimir Klitschko? It doesn’t look likely.
