Michael Jackson Manslaughter Trial Begins: Dr. Conrad Murray Gets Support
This Tuesday, opening statements are scheduled to begin after the jury was selected on Friday for the case against the personal physician of Michael Jackson. A jury of seven men and five women were selected, out of a prospective 100 potential jurors.
Dr. Conrad Murray is on trial for involuntary manslaughter. Michael Jackson died from drugs, Propofol, a drug that would help him sleep. He did not wake up. Jackson’s death was a big impact in the world market, where the “King of Pop” remained one of the top acts.
Jackson was on the comeback trail in the states as well, preparing his release of “This is It,” a concert movie intended to launch the comeback of the star. Although Conrad Murray is being held responsible for the death, the Jackson family has come forward in his defense. Latoya has called him the “fall guy” in this situation.
The trial will begin on Tuesday.
