J’Leon Love OUPOINTS Marco Antonio Periban: MAYWEATHER JR – MAIDANA UNDERCARD BOXING NEWS

By Geno McGahee

J’Leon Love, 18-0, 10 KO’s, had some rocky moments en route to a unanimous decision over Marco Antonio Periban, 20-2-1, 13 KO’s, by scores of 95-93, 97-92 and 96-93. It was an even fight with both fighters using primarily the jab to try to get control of the fight until the fifth round. A right hand would hurt Love badly and a follow up attack would send Jay Nady, the ref, into stop mode, but he changed his mind and let the fight continue, buying Leon very valuable time. Love would be dropped and hit while he was down, prompting Nady to shove Periban and dropping him. He got up before Nady could be rewarded the TKO win.

In the sixth round, Love took control and kept it for the remainder of the fight. The decision was in no doubt and Love moves on to see what else he can do in the super middleweight division.

RSR’s #1 reader, Antonio Martin, had the following comments about this fight:

“Jay Nady screwed my man! Yeah, what are you still sore that Zab Judah kicked your big ass Nady? Well, you put your hands on Periban and you should be fired. I hope they release the dogs on you and you can rub my diabetic c**k Nady! Yeah, you wouldn’t know good reffing if you got harpooned in your fat ass. Nady, if you ever come to Arizona and push me, you’ll bring out the bitch in this man!”
