The Texas A&M gunman was taken into custody this afternoon after killing a civilian and one police officer. The shooter is reported to have been using an automatic weapon, fired from a home near the college.
The President of Texas A&M, Bowen Loftin, released a statement today, regarding the shooting:
“This is a sad day in the Bryan-College Station community. As most of you know, a traumatic incident occurred a few blocks from our campus today. We are deeply saddened to learn about the deaths of three individuals, including a law enforcement officer. My thoughts and prayers, as well I am sure of the entire Aggie community, go out to the families and close friends of those who died so tragically, those who were injured and anyone else personally impacted by this senseless act of violence. All of us at Texas A&M will do whatever we can today and in the coming days to serve in any way possible to ease the pain, tensions and concerns of all affected.”
The violent act comes very close to the DARK KNIGHT RISES shooting in Colorado. It has rattled the community and has left many questions. Why did he do this? What was the motive? At the current time, motive is unknown, but with the gunman in custody, we expect answers very soon. Stay tuned…
