Danny Garcia DEFEATS Paulie Malignaggi: Huge Heart & Class Shown by “The Magic Man”

Former Junior Welterweight Champion Danny Garcia pitched nearly a shutout against former two division World Champion Paulie Malignaggi over nine rounds cutting him over and under his right eye. Paulie showed tons of heart, but Garcia was just too strong and in the end, referee Arthur Mercante, JR. did an outstanding job once again, as the third man in the ring, when he stopped the fight in the ninth round not allowing Paulie to take any more punishment. Garcia goes to 31-0, 18 KO’s and it looks like Paulie is going to finally retire.  I for one, picked Paulie by the upset, but knew it was a tall task for him at 34 to do it.  He showed tons of class in defeat and I wish him the best in retirement and look forward to his boxing commentary on Showtime.
