Oy Vay are you going to hear it today… Sadie read my last column and says if I put her in it again, she is going to kick the cream cheese out of my bagels. Gotta love her. Funny thing, she is pretty tough. There were lots of good fights on this weekend, so let’s get to it.

Errol Spence, JR…. I like this kid very much. I noticed him a few fights ago and told my crew he was going to be something special. Chris Algieri is not a world beater, but the kid is tough as they come. He took a beating against Manny Pacquaio and was dropped six times. Then he fought Amir Khan hard for 12 rounds and Khan couldn’t stop him either. So last night, Spence, JR. comes in and bombs him out. Say what you will, that was an impressive win in the fashion he did it. I liked his post fight interview with Jim Gray and telling you now RSR readers, he is the face of boxing! Just give him time and bigger fights to prove “Boom Boom” right!

Ron Lyle… What a tough SOB he was and a damn nice fella. I met him after his match with Ali in 75, and he was a great to talk with. RIP

Billy Dee Williams… I always liked his acting. Here are my top five movies of his.

5. Night Hawks
4. Empire Strikes Back
3. Lady Sings The Blues
2. The Bingo Long Traveling All-Stars & Motor Kings
1. Mahogany

My Pal Al (“Bad” Brad’s Father)… This is the day before Bradley’s birthday (18th) and Alvin always would always surprise him. On the 17th, he would call me when we all lived on Miami Beach, to say get your bagels over to such and such location. Bradley was Al’s entire world and he made each birthday for him as a child very special, something that to this day, he has never forgot.

The Chutzpah Award… The Chutzpah Award goes to boxer Steve “USS” Cunningham. I have watched this young man for several years. He’s as tough as they come and even in defeat last night, against Krzysztof Glowacki, Steve Cwhere he was dropped four times, he never quit. “USS” is never in a dull fight. He epitomizes the best in boxing with his heart.
