Remembering Film and TV Actress Linda Marsh

By “Bad” Brad Berkwitt

As my readers know from a recent review I did on one of my favorite shows Mannix, that I watch Monday – Friday on ME TV that as I watch each episode, I am constantly looking up stars from the episodes. I do this because for one, many were on my favorite TV show The Twilight Zone, and second, I love researching talented people I see either in old movies or TV shows.

Well, with that said, I watched an episode of Mannix called “The Many Deaths of Saint Christopher” – First aired in 1967) that had some great actors in it like John Marley, Joseph Campanella (regular on first two seasons of the show), Linda Marsh and David Hurst, who were the main supporting actors of the show that starred the late Mike Connors as tough gum shoe Joe Mannix.

Linda Marsh played Irina Stassos who “chewed up the scenery”, as my dad use to say in acting terms something he dabbled in during the 50’s and 60’s. She played the daughter of a Nazi Officer (John Marley) being chased down by Jewish Bounty Hunters (Davis Hurst) and her performance was simply put, touching and very impressive.

Over the years, Marsh has alsobeen in countless TV shows and movies such as, America, America, Freebie And The Bean, Homebodies, Che! and Stop.

IMDB shows her last acting credit on an episode of Hawaii 5-0, in an 1979 episode, called “Image of Fear”, where she played Joan Carter.

For my money, watch her on the episode of Mannix I mentioned earlier because you will see an actress very in charge of her craft.
