Does Manny Pacquiao Beat Vasyl Lomachenko?

After his impressive 7th round stoppage victory over the tough and rugged Argentinian – Lucas Matthysse – the Filipino Congressman, Manny Pacquiao, has re-ignited boxing fans’ love for him, as well as all the excitement surrounding him.
Despite being almost 40 years of age, Pacquiao showed signs of his former dominance and sharp skills against “The Machine”.
He also looked to have the dynamite back in his hands, as his shots seemed to visibly hurt his opponent, allowing him to score 3 knockdowns throughout the fight.
Even before this fight, however, there were plenty of rumors about Pacquiao fighting Vasyl Lomachenko and after such a dominant display and somewhat of a resurgence, it does beg the question: Does Pacquiao beat Lomachenko?
I think that I sit here in agreement with the majority of the boxing community, in saying that I do not believe Pacquiao beats Lomachenko.
I say this because although “Pacman” put in a great performance this past weekend, he is still past his best and beyond his peak. As was his opponent…
That’s not to say that he won’t cause “Hi-Tech” some problems, but when you look at Lomachenko’s dominance over fighters like Linares (in his prime) and Rigeondeaux, as well as all of the other names on his resume – amateur and professional – Lomachenko is a whole different animal.
Back in his hey-day, I would give Pacquiao a far greater chance of getting the win than I would now, but by going purely on their last few performances, I think the safe bet is on the Ukranian superstar.
However, a fighter like Manny Pacquiao cannot be written off.
The man who is practically a god back in home in the Philippines, just continues to prove that he has the desire to fight!
He also has the determination to keep getting in there and keep working right until the final bell and if this last fight is anything to go by, then he’s still packing a bit of dynamite in those fists.
I don’t think I’m wrong in thinking that boxing fans would enjoy seeing the 11 time World Champion take on one of the current pound-for-pound kingpins.
However, if he did, then I believe it would and should be, his final attempt at seeing his name back up there amongst the greatest fighters in the world.
