Breidis Prescott Victorious: Looking to Repeat Amir Khan Performance

By Geno McGahee

Light welterweight Breidis Prescott, 24-2, 19 KO’s, continued his path back to top contender status, used movement and power punches to take a wide decision over a game but overmatched Bayan Jargal, 15-2-3, 9 KO’s. Prescott has now put together three straight victories after back to back losses.

Prescott never capitalized on his biggest victory, a 54 second stoppage of Amir Khan in 2008, and with the victories piling up, a rematch would not be out of the question. Khan would most likely want to avenge the defeat and Prescott is looking for a big payday and opportunity to make it to the next level.

Kevin Rooney, JR., 1-0, won his pro debut over David Navarro, 0-3, dropping him en route to a unanimous and clear decision win.
