A Canadian View of the US: Are Trump Supporters Trying to Infiltrate the National Guard?
[AdSense-A]
Earlier tonight, as usual for me these past few weeks, I have been watching the CNN nightly lineup, specifically Chris Cuomo and Don Lemon. Like most people in the rest of the world I have been horrified by everything that I have seen happening in the US.
It’s hard to imagine that due to the soon to be ex-president’s inability to face the truth or who does not have the courage to do the right thing, admitting the truth and telling all his supporters that he did indeed lose.
Imagine that because of this, the upcoming inauguration for the new president Joe Biden and his vice-president Kamala Harris has been altered almost to the point of not even resembling what we think an inauguration would look like.
Thanks to the neverending temper tantrums of the terrible Trump, and because of the damage he has caused, Washington, DC looks like an armed compound with approximately 25,000 National Guard members now in residence.
All of these members have been stationed there to prevent a repeat of the events of January 6, 2021; also, they are there to prevent any damage that may occur the day of the inauguration from Trump’s supporters who cannot yet accept the fact that their beloved president has lost, and will indeed be leaving the White House and will no longer will hold the office of president.
They have been so brainwashed by Trump and his advisers/collaborators that they honestly believe that the election has been stolen; not only that, but that they can change the outcome of the election if they fight hard enough.
After all, remember for months, they have had Trump telling them repeatedly that if they protest and fight hard enough, then they can save him and keep him as their president. As has been discovered among the people who attacked the Capitol in the insurrection that day, there had been police and military members included in the numbers who had been there that day, and not to stop it, they were part of the insurrection force.
Now, the past couple of days, there has been discussion of how each and every National Guard member will be revetted so that they can make sure that there are no one who can use this duty as a chance to disrupt the events on Inauguration Day.
Now, earlier tonight, a report was published by the Washington Post stating that some of the QAnon supporters have been trying to see if they could infiltrate the National Guard; for what reason, is not clear, but to be honest, I cannot see any good reason that they would want to do that, if not to cause some huge kind of trouble to disrupt everything, hoping that it would allow Trump to come back as president.
If they were able to do this, exactly how far would they be willing to go? What would they do to get the result they want? Looking at the behavior that was seen on January 6, 2021, it is not hard to believe that they might be willing to use force, even to the point of killing to get their desired result?
The only positive thing is that in most units of the National Guard, they come from individual states, have trained together, and for that reason hopefully they would know that the infiltrators did not belong, and would be able to stop them before they could achieve their goals.
To be honest, if I hadn’t seen the events for myself for the past months, it would sound like a script for a Hollywood movie, not something you expect to see ever happen in real life; well, at least not in the United States?
Hopefully, the people doing the vetting will be able to make sure that no one has been able to get themselves placed so that this wild idea could ever have a chance of their plans being able to come true.
The United States needs to be able to begin healing, and once the new president and vice president are inaugurated, this will be the first step for this to happen. I want to wish the new administration the best of luck as they begin to work on fixing all the damage done to their country during the last four years.
I am wishing that the inauguration goes great, letting the country celebrate the new administration and getting the country back to the amazing place it was in the past and will be again in the future.
