Trump Said That His Words Were Peaceful: Tell That To The 7 People Who Died Due To The Insurrection
[AdSense-A]
Like the title screams at you, seven people have died due to the events that occurred during the insurrection; that number includes four of the rioters at the insurrection, a Capitol police officer the next day who died due to his injuries, and two of his fellow officers who committed suicide within days of the domestic terrorists attacking the Capitol Building on January 6, 2021.
Now a lot of people will say that it can’t be true that Trump’s words led to the events of that day, and they want to imitate the monkeys who cover their eyes, ears and mouths in the saying of see no evil, hear no evil, and speak no evil.
If they don’t believe that all of the lies that Trump spread before the election even happened, when he said that if he lost that election, that it had to be stolen through voter fraud. The truth is that even then he knew what he could see was coming; that he was going to lose the election due to the horrible job he had done as president, but especially how he had let the country down with his handling or I should say his mishandling of the Covid-19 pandemic.
He refused to do anything about the virus as it was beginning to be diagnosed, how he downplayed the seriousness of the infection; remember what he had admitted to Bob Woodward during the interview for Rage.
He admitted that he had been informed that it would be much worse than he had been saying in public; he also stated that it would be the biggest and worst national security threat that he would face during his presidency.
He told Woodward that he had been downplaying just how bad the effect that Covid-19 would have on the population of not only the US but the world, that he had been told that it could be equal to what happened during the 1918 pandemic.
He even admitted that it was deadly stuff while at the same time telling the American Public that it would soon just go away, and he also said that it was like a seasonal flu, and that the government had everything under control.
Now, if he was willing to downplay the severity of a virus that could and has devastated the world, why is it so hard for his followers to believe that he could and has indeed lied for months about the election being stolen, just so he could save his pride and ego. These two things were more important to him than the loss of life that these lies caused.
Even now, after seeing the turmoil, destruction and death that has followed the Jan. 6th insurrection, he is still refusing to admit that not did he lie continuously about the election, and thereby was consistently riling up his followers.
As well, even now he is still denying that he sent the QAnon and Trump followers from the rally that he held that day to the Capitol Building where the followers became domestic terrorists who then attacked the building, they broke in and damaged what is considered to the heart of American democracy; and it was during that time when all the injuries occurred that day plus the deaths that were a result of the insurrection, both that day and after the insurrection itself.
The seven people who died include were Officer Brian Sicknick, who served on the Capitol Police for 12 years, and he died the day after of the injuries he had received during the insurrection; as well as Officers Howard Liebengood and Jeffrey Smith who both committed suicide in the period since the insurrection.
Officer Howard Liebengood had been with the Capitol Police since 2005, and Officer Jeffrey Smith had joined the Capitol Police in 2008. Their two deaths cannot be considered separate from the lasting effects of the events of January 6, 2021.
As well, there were four people who died that day who were on the other side of the insurrection; they were his followers who were involved in the attack on the Capitol Building, the first was Ashli Babbitt, 35, from Huntington, Maryland who was shot and died from the injury she received that day.
Three other people died due to medical emergencies that occurred during the attack that day, it was one female and two males. They were Rosanne Boyland, 34, of Kennesaw, Georgia; Benjamin Philips, 50, of Ringtown, Pennsylvania; and Kevin Greeson, 55, of Athens, Alabama. The three were on the grounds of the Capitol at the time of their deaths.
These numbers do not include all the other injuries that were sustained that day, including almost 140 officers who were injured that day, officers from both the D.C. Police and Capitol Police forces; these injuries include an officer who will most likely lose an eye.
Now, after all this has been shown to have happened after Donald Trump’s “peaceful” speech on the day of the insurrection, what does he have to say about all the deaths and injuries that happened that day?
Earlier today, he was requested to testify before the Senate for his second impeachment; however, not surprisingly, he has refused to do so. He knows that if he did so, that during his impeachment trial, he was sure to be asked the same questions as here.
Though, in the impeachment trial, those questions would be much more detailed, and they would be in a place where he would have to answer, or be able to avoid answering in such a way that the Republicans in the Senate would still be able to vote and acquit him. If that happens, it would therefore leave him the faint possibility of being able to run for and win an election for federal office again.
Well, that is the view from here in Canada. I am signing off with much love for all of you as you continue to heal from what you witnessed that day; not only that, but all of the time before then that led to that awful day.
