Neflix: ANGRY CUSTOMERS SPEAK OUT

By Geno McGahee

Two weeks ago, Netflix sent out a memo to all of its subscribers, informing them how they plan to make the service better and so on and forth, and how do they make it better for them? They hike up the price. My plan was $19.99 per month with unlimited streaming and 3 DVDs out at a time. To help me, they wanted to basically raise it four dollars a month. They separated it into two plans. One was the DVD plan and the other was the streaming plan and it equaled the bend you over plan for the subscribers.

Netflix had a plan to get rid of DVDs all together. They are more expensive, you have to pay for postage, they get lost, and there are a lot of other things that cost money, but with streaming, it’s all gravy. The money that Netflix will make from this service is huge and that is why there was an attempt to faze DVDs out. In fact, they have stopped taking a great deal of titles. I got Netflix as the alternative to Blockbuster and Hollywood Video. I still rented from the local video stores, but found the obscure horror films that I wanted to see in the Netflix catalog. Now, they have stopped taking a lot of titles. The fear is that they will only carry mainstream movies in the future. The good thing is that we will see alternative arise to meet the demand… I hope.

Netflix chief executive, Reed Hastings, gave an interview Monday and said: “So, we have to face those subscribers who are upset by the increase this quarter. As our subscriber base continues to grow, we’re able to spend more on improving that service, both on the R.& D. side and on the content availability side.”

Since I am not the only Netflix customer, I have elected to contact other Netflix users to see what they think about this situation and asked them if they kept their service as is. For the record, I changed my plan.

“Yea Netflix gets paid dipsh*t, they get paid well. How old are you? You sure resort to childish tactics don’t you.. DVD jokes lmao. My 9 year old nephew got grounded the other day for calling the kid down the block a non user of Netflix. Threaten you? lmao, nah no need to do that, however I GUARANTEE your ass wouldn’t be making DVD jokes if I walked up on you in person buddy… that I promise. Whydo you hate so much bro? Do you have mental issues? You never even met me, and you attack as if I slapped one of your family members. By the way, NOBODY has even heard of those so called places that you used to rent from. Do I have a Netflix plan? lmao, NOOOOO I don’t. Of course I get do you fool, and I get nice DVD rentals for my PLAN as well, and from several video stores, and yes dipsh*t, I get a DVD from Primer Round DVD Magazine as well. Not to mention several other DVDs for doing PR work for many profe ssional Netflix users. HATE all you want clown, you mean NOTHING to me, never have, never will.” – Jack Mars from behind bars

“This e-mail is kind of mixed review. The good – wanted to congratulate Netflix for the rapid rise in 2011. Hope you guys are able to keep it going in 2012 and beyond

The bad – that rate increase you did… I realize I’m on the outside looking in, but regardless of whatever history you and the users have, the stuff you guys put out there was completely bush league. You can’t call yourselves the heart of DVDs and how you treat the game with class and respect, then in the same breath throw a cat under the bus like that.” – Jerk Donelson

“At first, when I was introduced to Netflix for the first time, I was a little aware if not afraid to watch DVDs, because of unfounded gossip that Reed Hastings had a diabolical influence. But when I watched for the first time, I knew that was totally false. How could that adorable little Hastings have not be sent to all us viewers but from Heaven? I remember the time where Hastings decided they needed a woman and came up with Lady Smurf….I began asking my dad if I could buy a potion in the supermarket and make myself a few girlfriends like that too!..Lol!” – Martin Imposter
