VERIZON STRIKE – Why the Workers are Out

Verizon Communications could not come to an agreement to a new contract with its workers. For the first time in 11 years, the workers have gone on strike, which began at 12:01 AM today.

The company is attempting to change the contract so they can more easily fire workers and stop pensions. This strike could affect the customer support for Verizon customers, but the company has put into play a contingency plan, which will ensure that their customers will see limited disruption to their service.
