Andre Ward, 22-0, 13 KO’s, successfully defended his WBA Super Middleweight Title with a dominant unanimous decision victory over Allan Green, 29-2, 20 KO’s, by the scores of 120-108 across the board.
From the opening bell the swarming style of Ward was too much of a puzzle for Green, who couldn’t react to it. For most of the fight, Ward kept Green against the ropes and mauled him. He is much like John Ruiz with more skill. There were moments where Green got room to punch but he never capitalized on it and Ward just lunged forward and pushed Green back. It was really a horrible performance for Green and an effective but ugly showing by Ward.
Ward’s victory puts him into the semi finals of the Super Six tournament and with the lead with four points.
