New Orleans Saints Defeat the Carolina Panthers in NFC Division Showdown 28-10

By Debbie Edwards

In a game symbolic of the NFC South race, the New Orleans Saints beat the Carolina Panthers 28-10. Both teams seemed ready to give the game away, each committing costly turnovers. The Saints were able to establish a running game on the legs of Mark Ingram, who accounted for 2 of the Saints touchdowns. Jimmy Graham also contributed heavily to the Saints offensive production, converting key first downs in his second game back from a shoulder injury.

The Saints currently hold the NFC South division lead outright, and have improved their record to 4-4. The Panthers currently occupy second place in the division, falling to 3-5-1.

The Saints broke a 7 game road losing streak, and will return to the Crescent City to host the 4-3 San Francisco 49’ers. The 49’ers take on the Saint Louis Rams (2-5) on Sunday.
