WWE Diva Lana and Bulgarian Brute Rusev Likely on Course for Split

There are rumors swirling around the WWE that beautiful and talented Lana is set to split from the Bulgarian Brute Rusev. The two have been paired since Rusev came onto the scene, but Lana has become the real star with her stellar performances on the microphone, and her ability to be ruthless and beautiful at the same time, similar to a James Bond villain. Lana has really become a fan favorite, despite her villainous nature and link to the much-hated Rusev. While Rusev is wrestling, the WWE Universe is mostly focused on Lana, and not just because of her beauty. She knows how to command the ring and does so with confidence.

According to the Wrestling Observer, WWE will likely push Lana in a position where she can be the face of the WWE Diva Division. The split with Rusev will reveal that Lana is, in fact, American and not Russian, and turn her baby face. Vince McMahon is reportedly a huge fan of Lana’s talents and likely to heavily utilize her in the post-split period. Splitting with Rusev, however, may have a negative impact on the Bulgarian Brute, as English is not his first language. I could see Rusev’s character becoming boring real quick, especially since John Cena has ended his unbeaten streak.

So if the WWE does split Lana with Rusev, what does that mean for Lana? It is hard to tell because Lana is not a wrestler and unlikely to keep up with the likes of the Bella Twins or Paige. It is possible that WWE could train her and maybe one day she will be ready to compete, but that would keep her off television for a significant period of time, something that is not in the best interest of the WWE. A more likely scenario is that Lana becomes a manager for one or multiple wrestlers. However, if the WWE does go the baby face route, then she will be good, which I think does not do her justice. Lana tremendously plays the role of a villain, so I hope WWE Creative could continue capitalizing on that. I think it is the right decision for WWE to move Lana’s character on from Rusev and embark on new adventures in the WWE. She certainly deserves it.
