Time to Embrace and Welcome the Diva Revolution – Breaking WWE News

divaBy Nick “Red” Conley

More was done and accomplished in the WWE Divas Division on the July 13 edition of Monday Night Raw than arguably all of 2015 and 2014, as NXT powerhouses Sasha Banks, Charlotte, and Becky Lynch were called up and wreaked havoc in the ring. The segment was certainly a surprise, as it started with the Bella Twins joined by Alicia Fox coming out to the ring and beginning their weekly jabbering, something we have seen over and over and over again. Things got interesting when Stephanie McMahon came out and countering Nikki Bella’s comments and vowed to shake up the Divas Division, and did she ever.

Stephanie McMahon claimed she wanted to give the Bellas some real completion and proceeded to call Paige out to the ring, and then it got exciting. Stephanie then called out NXT Divas Charlotte and Becky Lynch to join Paige and counter the Bella/Fox trio. Seconds later, Naomi and Tamina entered the ring claiming they deserved shots at Nikki Bella and the Divas title, which led to Stephanie then calling out NXT Women’s Champion Sasha Banks, yet another surprise. For NXT fans, this has something that should have come much sooner. The arrival of these three Divas riled up the crowd and led to exciting brawl between the nine Divas that ended with Becky Lynch, Charlotte, and Sasha Banks putting the Bellas and Alicia Fox in submission moves.

All I have to say is it is about time the WWE called these three Divas up. Charlotte, Sasha Banks, and Becky Lynch have done a tremendous amount for NXT, good role models for women, and needed to be called up to compete at the next level. I think Charlotte has some work to do when it comes to in-ring chemistry with other superstars, but there is no denying her athletic capabilities. Becky Lynch and Sasha Banks shined, especially Banks who is a tremendous competitor. There is no doubt that the WWE Diva Division was lagging, boring, and repetitive, primarily because WWE Creative seemingly lacks the will and creativity to change things up. Maybe it is just laziness. A typical Vince McMahon-run show translates into no time or interesting storylines for the Divas. Whether it is Stephanie taking a more proactive role or the latest shakeup in the WWE at the corporate level, the Diva Division is getting a much needed boost and the likely commencement of an array of new storylines and matches.

I hope WWE Creative could keep up the momentum achieved by the Divas on last Monday Night Raw, as it was arguably the biggest night for the Divas in recent memory. The Diva revolution has begun. Now it is up to WWE Creative to give the Divas a chance by allocating them time in the ring with viable bookings.
