Wayne Heath was our guest on The “Bad” Brad Berkwitt Show recently, and what a joy he was. There was a strong sense of family with this interview, and that is heartwarming in this day and age. Wayne comes from a boxing heritage, with his father and his uncle both being involved in the sport. He also comes from a line of law enforcement, his father being the former Chief of Police and he works as a Federal Officer.
What I most appreciated about this interview is the love that was evident when he spoke of his father. His father recently passed away, and Wayne shared several good memories. He spoke of how his father mentored several young people in his community who had brushes with the law. I mention this because, in a world that can be cold at times, what a beautiful legacy of concern to leave behind. Many people came forward to express their appreciation for the interest and kindness that the elder Heath showed to them while growing up, some crediting him with them turning their lives around at his funeral this past December.
What if every community had a Wayne Heath, SR., a man who mentored our youth, instead of maligning them? Six officers credited him with being the force that changed their lives around and inspired them to go into law enforcement. That inspiration stemmed from showing personal concern for their choices in life and conduct. It is something to which every concerned citizen should hope to aspire to. Better communities make a better world. When citizens become better people, communities become better places.
We wish to extend our deepest sympathies to the family of Wayne Heath, SR. and extend a heartfelt “thank you” for his part in making our community a better place.Contact the management team
